The prettiest looking racer ever the red head 1957 Ferrari 625 TRC Spider fetched a whopping €5,040,000  at RM Auctions' Monaco Historic Weekend. It was sold alongside its original power plant that too raked in a heft fee.

Conceived and designed by Enzo Ferrari, this rarest of all the Testa Rossa's ever produced, is the only factory-built 625 TRC in existence today.

Dubbed by Prancing Horse historian Richard F. Merritt  as “a timeless, downright breathtaking execution of Italian motoring passion, married to one of the greatest sports racing chassis of all time,” the 625 TRC underwent a massive overhaul to look this good.

Besides abandoning the Chevy V8 engine for a more appropriately tuned V12, it was given a fresh coat of Italian racing red and a more macho looking full-width windscreen in 1982.

Powered by a 3.0-liter V12 engine, the 625 TRC makes an astonishing 320 horses of power and is mated to a conventional  four-speed manual gearbox. The interior comes in nice beige corduroy upholstery.

The bidding frenzy in the Monaco sale room was a sight to see as bidders kept bumping its price to make the 625 TRC one of the most expensive Ferraris ever.
