Emma Watson 'Beauty and the Beast' Costume Embroidered In India

Beauty and the Beast is about an adaptation of the Disney fairy tale about a monstrous-looking prince and a young woman who fall in love. The movie has broken all the records and also won a numerous hearts all across the world. The leads of the movie were praised for their acting and also the costumes and make-up of the leads became a hot topic among the people in the town.

Emma Watson has been winning hearts all across the globe for her spectacular performance in 'Beauty and the Beast'. Apart of the acting, the actress looks alluring in every outfit she is wearing and also perfectly brings out the fairy tale character to life. Many people are not aware of the fact that there is an Indian element which has brought the added "beauty" to one of the costumes in the movie.

Do you people remember the off-white dress with the intricately embroidered bodice Emma's donning in the film? Well, that has been hand-crafted by the Indian artisan brothers Kasam and Juma from Bhuj, Gujarat.

Sinead O'Sullivan, assistant costume designer of the film 'Beauty and the Beast' took Instagram to post a picture of the beautifully embroidered bodice.

The caption of the post explains how the fine chain stitch embroidery is made, It is a common form of design in the Kutch area of Gujrat called 'Aari' managed to pave its way to the silver screen, in the form of Belle's gorgeous costumes.

The caption explains that, Belle's bodice was beautifully hand embroidered by the Indian artisan brothers Kasam and Juma in Bhuj, Western India. The Brothers used a technique called "Aari work" which is a very fine chain stitch traditional to the Kutch area of Gujarat. This style lent itself very nicely to the eighteenth century French floral design. The costume designed by Jacqueline Durran.
