Following President Trump’s celebration of Diwali in the White House, it was the Empire State Building next which was lit up in bright orange to celebrate Diwali. The same was following a ceremony which was conducted by one of the leading Indian Diaspora organization.

The same happened on the Saturday Night as all the Indians across the world were busy celebrating the festival of lights across the world.

The event was conducted by the Federation of Indian Associations (FIA), which is the largest non-profit organization based around the tri state area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. The event was organized by FIA in collaboration with the Empire State Realty Trust.

The conducted ceremony was attended by some of elite members of the Indian diaspora. They even conducted a dance performance and cultural program for the people attending the show. Some of the highlighted personalities that attended the event included FIA Chairman Ramesh Patel, Alok Kumar, who is the President of the organization, Trustee Ankur Vaidya along with the Past President of the organization Srujal Parikh.

Following the event, FIA said in a statement, “The tower lit up with millions of festive lights in Orange, the colour of the Diya or the lamp and cast a beautiful hue across the night sky of New York City spreading the message of oneness in celebrating the victory of good over evil.”

The same thing also happened last year as well when the Empire State Building lit up bright on the occasion of Diwali. In addition to this, the FIA has been collaboratively working with the Empire State Realty trust to lit up the top of the building during the month of August every year in the tricolor of the flag to celebrate the occasion of Independence day.

FIA has previously mentioned that such kind gestures from the ESRT has asserted better preaching of the sayings of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam which otherwise translates to “the world is one family”. This is believed to further preach better peace and harmony among the people across the world, irrespective of their ethnicity and nationality.
