An Indian army Jawan hailing from Maharastra died while trying to save his colleagues by falling into a river in the Galwan valley.
Ministry of State for Home, Satej Patil said on Thursday that the Jawan, Sachin More who was a native of Malegaon in Nashik district, died by falling into a river while saving his co-Jawans.
Sachin More, was posted in Galwan valley, which is now the center for tensions between India and China.
Maharastra Deputy Chief Minister, Ajit Pawar and other NCP leaders paid tribute to the brave Army soldier.
Home Minister, Anil Deshmukh said that he stands by Sachin’s family in this moment of grief.
Notably, Galwan valley is the place where Chinese troops have engaged in a violent clash with the Indian soldiers on June 15. During this face-off, 20 army soldiers and a colonel were martyred.
The tension on the Galwan valley only seems to be escalating lately as the Chinese troops brought back the tent like structure that Indian soldiers have destroyed.
