The Kashmir Files happens to be the biggest hit of the year and the film was lauded by all the sections of the audience. The film narrates about the killings of the Kashmiri Pandits from Kashmir in the 90s. Israeli filmmaker Nadav Lapid headed the jury of IFFI and during his speech, he called the film vulgar, disturbing and shocking. During his speech, Nadav Lapid said "It seemed to us like a propagandist movie and it is inappropriate for an artistic, competitive section for a prestigious film festival. I am comfortable to share these feelings on the stage".

The Kashmir Files directed by Vivek Agnihotri bagged several awards and is a humongous hit when compared to the budget on which it was made. Anupam Kher, Mithun Chakraborty and Pallavi Joshi played the lead roles. The Centre supported the film and made it tax free in all the BJP-ruled states. The Kashmir Files is screened in the Panorama section of the IFFI last week. Some of the countries banned the film calling it a one-sided attempt. The IFFI in Goa got concluded last night.
